DR Surgical Mission Trip 2023!!! We’re going!

We are actively fundraising to support a six day surgical mission trip to provide care to the underserved community of Azua, Dominican Republic. The trip will include 7 orthopedic surgery residents, attending surgeons and an internist and is only possible thanks to the volunteer efforts and donations of our supporters!

The first trip was in 2014 through the tireless efforts of Rush Orthopedic Surgery Resident William Slikker MD. We continued to seek donations for all necessary supplies and implants to maximize the impact of our trip. Our last trip was in 2020, where we performed 26 procedures but were unable to return due to COVID restrictions. Residents who have made the trip in the past say it was a highlight of the residency and helped give many patients care they otherwise would not have received.

We plan to return this year with 7 residents and are fundraising to help fund travel costs. Any amount would be greatly appreciated to lessen the financial burden residents would otherwise have to pay.

We greatly appreciate any support. Your generosity is invaluable and allows residents to participate in the journey to help those who otherwise would not have access to health care.

Once again, thank you very much for your support.

Best regards,
