Operación Sonrisa (OS) says it is looking for people with cleft lip or palate in Belize, according to a tweet from volunteer nurse @mafpetite.

Operation Smile (Operation Sonrisa in Spanish) provides free services to correct cleft lip or palate, with no age limit for people in need.

All I can say is OS is a wonderful option to change lives with excellent medical assistance and we care for our patients with absolute love and empathy,” @mafpetite said.

According to its website, Operation Smile claims to work in 34 countries where they have thousands of volunteers from 60 different countries. Operation Smile says that after surgery to correct a cleft palate, children’s ability to eat, breathe and speak improves dramatically. After each operation, the organization provides the children, according to their needs, with comprehensive medical care including dental care, speech therapy and psychological therapy.

At this time, Operación Sonrisa GT said they are looking for children in Belize who need help and they should contact them via @operacionsonrisagt on Instagram or email [email protected]operationsmile.org.
