Orthodontic consultant with a particular interest in cleft work with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Applications are invited for orthodontic consultants with a specialist interest in cleft at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Two positions are available:

Station 1: 7.5 AP

Position 2: 8.5 AP

Main duties of the position

Cleft.NET.East, hosted by Addenbrookes is one of nine specialist Cleft services in England and Wales. We are a regional network committed to providing high quality care for children, adults and their families affected by clefts, who live in the East of England.

Both of these roles will be integrated into the Cleft multidisciplinary team and will play a vital role in providing care to Cleft.NET.East patients.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally will have a CCT in Orthodontics or you will be within six months of being awarded the CCT at the time of the interview. Applications are welcome from those unable to work full-time for personal reasons or from those wishing to job share.

As part of our commitment to supporting medical staff in their role in providing excellent patient care service, all newly appointed consultants participate in our five-day consultant development program in the year following their joining the Trust. Leadership is a key requirement of physicians’ professional work and this innovative program is designed to help consultants hone the leadership and management skills they need to be successful at CUH.

The candidate should have demonstrable listening, reading, writing and speaking skills in English that enable effective communication on medical topics with patients and colleagues as outlined in GMC Good Medical Practices (2013). Non-UK applicants must pass the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC license to practice.
