Pardee UNC Health Care is bolstering its surgical program with the addition of Vanessa Mugica, Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, to Pardee Breast Surgery. Mugica has over 10 years of surgical experience as a Certified Perioperative Nurse Practitioner in a variety of surgical areas including Breast, General, Vascular, Urology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Urology and Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Mugica graduated from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine before completing her internships and residencies at Mission Health. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner and by the Competency & Credentialing Institute (CCI) as a Surgical Nurse Practitioner.

In his spare time, Mugica enjoys hiking, roller-skating and rural tourism. Her true passion is the fiber arts, and she is an avid knitter and spinner who sources her fibers from local family farms. She is also an active member of the Lupus Foundation of America and speaks three languages ​​- English, Spanish (Castilian), and Italian.
