Surgical Strikes, Balakot will be part of the government’s new dialogue and documentation initiative

The Narendra Modi government has been planning to create a new program of dialogue, documentation and research on various flagship initiatives and programs since 2014, News18 has learned.

The program will be piloted by the Ministry of Education.

In a letter sent to all ministries last month, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said there was a proposal to create “intellectual heritage in development, knowledge resources and the creation of a new India”, which, in turn, will be based on the initiatives taken by the Modi government. News18 accessed the letter.

The initiatives, which are likely to be covered by the program, range from National Education Policy and “PM Poshan” under the theme of Knowledge for the New India, Aadhaar and Digilocker under “India Powered by Technology: Transforming Work, Empowering People” and the 2016 Surgical Strike and 2019 Balakot Airstrike under the theme “Nation First: No Second Thoughts on National Security”.

Senior government officials said dialogues, documentation, research and publications on these themes will be planned and organized in various academic institutions over the next three months starting the first week of July.

In his letter, Pradhan said that various conferences of researchers will be organized where research papers based on government data and other sources will be presented.

“Researchers from reputable institutes of higher learning (HEIs) will contribute to these papers,” Pradhan said, adding that the papers will eventually be published as a print or digital book.

The letter indicated that nearly 100 conferences were planned across the country on 100 themes identified initially. The conferences will be held in the HEIs and will see the participation of senior officials and experts.

Departments were asked to review various themes and add or delete themes.
Seeking support from ministries on “academic activity”, Pradhan said the results of the research paper will eventually be given to ministries for their use.
